THE PRODUCT

Paints formulated on the basis of PUD are extremely easy to apply, dry quickly, have no residual smell and their "solvent" is water itself, meaning that they do not cause any harm to the environment or the health of those handling them.

In conventional paints, the synthetic solvents they are formulated with, when they dry, are released into the upper layers of the atmosphere, contributing to the destruction of the ozone layer and global warming.

When we use water-based paints, none of this happens, because the solvent that evaporates is water... Because of these exceptional qualities, this material is widely used in the USA, Europe and Japan because it is the best solution for non-aggressive paints, which is why it is in great demand all over the world.

  Water-based coating products are significantly more durable than their solvent-based counterparts, both in terms of resistance to friction and abrasion. They are much more difficult to sand and remove from wood surfaces than solvent-based finishes. A water-based coating cannot be removed with conventional removers - only highly aggressive, specially formulated removers can eliminate this coating.

  Water-based coating products have a lifespan 300% longer than their solvent-based counterparts. For example, a water-based varnish will last 5 to 10 years longer than a conventional nitrocellulose varnish. A marine spar varnish will have a lifespan of 4 to 5 months when subjected to severe weather conditions. A water-based marine polyurethane has a lifespan of at least 12 months under the same climatic conditions.

  All water-based coating products contain an organic solvent or a combination of solvents. However, the quantities are significantly lower than in solvent-based coatings, usually less than 10% by volume, and some water-based varnishes contain less than 2% by volume. These types of solvents are essential components for film formation, known as coalescing solvents. However, there is an important factor that needs to be recognized about these types of solvents: they are based on propylene glycol and are not classified as hazardous substances by IBAMA (Brazilian Environmental Institute), with minimal danger to health.
